Hi,

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Kevin and I started this blog a few years ago with a particular desire to write about things I’m learning as a father, a striving father — one continually striving to be the one I believe God has created me to be. I’m not perfect — far from it, in fact. But three realities keep me writing here:

  1. We all need encouragement. Bottom line, this parenting gig is tough. Sure, there are a gazillion books published that are supposed to help us, Pinterest is full of ideas that (if executed perfectly) will make us the “perfect parent,” and we can all constantly look over our shoulder (or our news feed) to figure out what to do. No shortage of ideas. A shortage of encouragement. I hope to encourage.
  2. There’s a void of guys writing about parenting. There are no shortage of women blogging about how to be a better mom. “Mommy blogger” is a legitimately respected industry role. But where are the men? Where are the dads? Few and far between. I hope to speak for, and to, a forgotten bunch.
  3. I am learning a few things. Either in a positive way or from a tragic failure, I learn something new just about every day. I figure in the trenches of parenting, we’re all better together. By sharing a bit of what I’m learning, I hope to be a help to others.

I’m the proud husband of my high-school sweetheart and the daddy of two amazing girls, one, six the other, two. I work full time in global operations and strategy for Awana: a ministry that equips leaders to reach kids around the world. Outside of that, I’m actively involved in my church and serve on the board of my local public library.

I also blog about culture and leadership at kevinkwhite.wordpress.com. You can follow and connect with me on Twitter at @kevin_white.
